Truth : Does typing BFF in Facebook reveal if your account is at risk?

in Trending Scoops by

Hello guys, You might have seen post like below, floating arround the Social media.

According to the post :
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, invented the word BFF. To make sure your account is safe on Facebook, type BFF in a comment.
If it appears green, your account is protected.
If it does not appear in green, change your password immediately because it may be hacked by someone

Some of you, or your friends might have tried this thing, Right?. and guess what, your comment may, or may not be turned green.

Well,

  • Typing BFF does (usually), result in turning the letters into green, but this doesn’t indicate that your account may hacked or account being (or not being) at risk. Well, It doesn’t even make any sense to introduce such a bizarre and arbitrary method of determining if your account is at risk.

Well to prove, what we said: Just think

  • Have seen, any official announcement from Mark Zuckerberg himself? or even Facebook itself   ?
Well, you can check his profile here : https://www.facebook.com/zuck
So, did you find anything?  : No, right ?
  • Secondly, Why Facebook doesn’t notify about this important security feature like Facebook always do. How they can forget to notify. Also, I don’t know, who started this news, but whoever started this news – is he/she , Facebook’s or Mark Zuckerberg’s relative? – that he/she got the news, which isn’t even official yet– lol right?

So What Actually is this BFF, and why it turns green?

Well, its simply a Facebook feature called “text delight“, (you can find more info, by googling “Facebook text delight”) in which whenever you type certain keywords into Facebook, it turns on certain animation and changes text color. BFF stands for Best friend forever and What’s happening in the case of the letters BFF turning green is that they have been chosen by Facebook as a “special” comment that, upon being typed, produce a brief visual animation to appear on the screen.

It is similar to the fact, when you type congrats , it turns orange and show brief animation. Also, if you type “love” or “xoxo”, it shows heart and turns red.
Facebook hasn’t documented about this feature, but you can find the list of all the keywords here :
